Cookies are small files that websites save on your device. Some are essential to make a site work. Others help us understand how the site is used or measure our advertising. This page explains which we use and how to change your choices.
Your choices
When you first visit, our banner asks whether you’re happy for us to use optional cookies. Nothing optional is loaded until you choose. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time.
The cookies we use
The table below is kept up to date automatically from our consent settings.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Tells people apart from bots, to protect the site from automated attacks. | 30 minutes |
cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Remembers that you passed a security check, if you were shown one. | Up to 1 year |
wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* | WordPress | Keeps site editors signed in. Only set if you log in to manage the website. | Session or 14 days |
Google and Microsoft consent signals
If you accept analytics or marketing cookies, our banner tells Google (through Consent Mode) and Microsoft (through UET consent mode and the Clarity consent API) what you’ve agreed to. If you reject them, those tools are not loaded at all.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a “no” to marketing cookies unless you choose otherwise in the banner.
More information
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. The ICO’s guidance at ico.org.uk explains cookies in more detail.
