This policy explains how Digital Web World Limited collects and uses personal information through this website, and the choices you have. We’ve kept it as clear as we can.
Who we are
Digital Web World Limited (“we”, “us”) is the controller of personal data collected through dwworld.co.uk. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 07015517. Our registered office is Sussex Innovation Centre, Suite 4, Science Park Square, Brighton BN1 9SB. Happy Otter is a brand of Digital Web World Limited.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email stephen@dwworld.co.uk or call 07921 866754.
What we collect and why
When you contact us
If you use our contact form, email, phone or WhatsApp, we collect the details you give us, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name, budget range and message. We use them to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to provide our services.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to an enquiry you’ve sent us) or, where you become a client, taking steps to enter into and perform a contract with you.
When you visit the website
Our hosting and security providers process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This keeps the website secure and working properly, and helps us stop spam and attacks. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that submissions come from people rather than bots. Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser to do this. It does not use tracking cookies.
Analytics and advertising, only with your consent
If you agree through our cookie banner, we may use Google Analytics, Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used and how well our advertising works. These tools do not load, and set no cookies, until you say yes. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
When you make a choice, we keep a record of it (a random ID, the categories you chose, the date and the version of the banner you saw). This is how we show we asked properly. It does not include your name, email address or full IP address.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal data.
- We don’t load advertising or analytics tools unless you agree to them.
- We don’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Cookies
Our cookie policy lists every cookie we use, what it does and how long it lasts.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of trusted suppliers to run our business. They only process your data on our instructions:
- Google (Google Workspace, and Google Analytics and Google Ads if you consent), for email, documents, analytics and advertising measurement.
- Microsoft (Microsoft Advertising and Clarity, only if you consent), for advertising measurement and understanding how pages are used.
- Cloudflare, for website security, performance and spam checks.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
- WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to message us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy then applies to that conversation.
- Professional advisers, such as our accountants, where needed.
Some of these suppliers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (or Addendum) to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 12 months so we can follow up and answer questions about them, then delete them. Consent records are kept for two years. If you become a client, we keep project and billing records for six years after our work ends, as UK tax law requires.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- ask us to delete your data
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it
- ask us to transfer it to you or someone else in a common format
To use any of these rights, email stephen@dwworld.co.uk. We’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. If you live in the EU, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
Keeping your data safe
We protect personal data with encryption in transit, access controls, two-factor authentication on our accounts and regular security updates. Only people who need your data to do their job can see it.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page if the way we use personal data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
